Be Still Ministry

Be Still Ministry was founded in Southern California by Destiney & Jonathan Hitchens to honor the memory of their daughter, Caislee Rylin, who was stillborn. Through their own journey of grief, they felt called to create a Christ-centered space for women and mothers experiencing similar losses. The ministry provides conferences, retreats, and events to help grieving mothers find healing, hope, and renewal through faith and community.
Caislee Rylin Foundation
Jonathan & Destiney are the founders of the Caislee Rylin Foundation, created in honor of our daughter, to support families navigating stillbirth and infant loss. Through offerings like memorial birth prints, star maps, and the Caislee Box, we provide meaningful ways to honor lost babies. All proceeds directly fund the foundation’s efforts and the Be Still Ministry, supporting retreats and events that bring hope and healing to grieving mothers. Mission
-----------
Our mission is to create a Christ-centered space for women and mothers who have experienced stillbirth and loss. We are dedicated to providing hope, healing, and restoration by guiding women to the peace found in stillness with God. Through conferences, retreats, and community resources, we seek to equip women with the tools to process their grief, strengthen their faith, and reclaim joy in their journey.
We are committed to fostering a supportive community where women can share their stories, honor their children’s legacies, and find comfort in God’s promises. By walking alongside women in their pain, we aim to reflect the compassion of Christ and remind them that their grief is not the end of their story. Through faith, love, and fellowship, we strive to inspire healing and empower women to step into God’s purpose for their lives.
Beliefs
-----------
God’s Presence in Grief
We believe that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and walks with us through our deepest sorrows. He is a refuge and source of peace, even in life’s most painful moments.
The Value of Every Life
Every child, no matter how brief their time on earth, is created in the image of God and has eternal value and purpose (Psalm 139:13-16). We honor the lives of these little ones and celebrate their significance in God’s kingdom.
The Power of Faith to Heal
We believe that God’s love and grace provide the strength to heal from the pain of loss. By leaning on His promises, we can find restoration and purpose through even the most profound grief.
Community and Compassion
God calls us to comfort others with the same comfort we have received from Him (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We believe in the importance of community and creating a safe space for women to share, grieve, and grow together in faith.
Hope in Eternity
We trust in the promise of eternal life and the hope of being reunited with our loved ones in Heaven (John 14:2-3). This assurance sustains us as we journey through loss and points us toward the joy of God’s eternal plan.
The Power of Stillness
In moments of stillness and surrender, God speaks and provides clarity, peace, and strength (Psalm 46:10). We believe that being still before Him allows us to experience His presence in a transformative way.
Beauty from Ashes
We believe in God’s ability to bring beauty and purpose from pain (Isaiah 61:3). Through faith, grief can be redeemed into something that glorifies Him and helps others find hope.
Statement of Faith
---------------------------------------
Our faith is the foundation of everything we do. We believe in the transformative power of God’s love to bring healing, restoration, and hope to those who are grieving. Rooted in the truth of Scripture, we hold fast to the promise that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that His grace is sufficient even in our deepest pain (2 Corinthians 12:9).
We believe that every life, no matter how brief, is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Each child is a gift from God, and through our ministry, we honor their lives and legacies. We trust that in our moments of stillness, when the weight of loss feels overwhelming, God meets us with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Through this faith, we are committed to walking alongside women and families who have experienced stillbirth and loss. We provide a space for healing that is grounded in the love of Christ, where hearts can be mended, stories can be shared, and hope can be restored. At Be Still, we strive to reflect the compassion of Jesus, pointing others toward the light of His promises even in the midst of sorrow.
In all that we do, we seek to glorify God, trusting that He can bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3) and purpose through pain.

Retreats
Our retreats are Christ-centered gatherings designed to provide a safe and peaceful space for grieving mothers to heal and connect. Through worship, prayer, and meaningful workshops, these retreats guide women in processing their loss while finding comfort in God’s promises. Surrounded by a compassionate community of those who understand their journey, attendees are encouraged to honor their child’s memory, embrace moments of stillness with God, and rediscover hope and purpose for their future. Each retreat is a time for restoration, reflection, and renewal in the presence of God’s love.

Events
Our events are smaller, faith-filled gatherings designed to foster connection, creativity, and healing for mothers navigating loss. These events provide opportunities to come together in a supportive community and honor the memory of their children through meaningful activities like paint nights, ornament making, journaling workshops, and more. Each event is thoughtfully crafted to offer moments of reflection, encouragement, and fellowship while creating tangible keepsakes to cherish. Whether through art, conversation, or prayer, these gatherings serve as gentle reminders of God’s presence and the strength found in community.
